Mappings

Introduction

This page specifies - on a functional level - the mappings from MedMij-standards to Clinical Building Blocks (CBB, in Dutch: Zorginformatiebouwstenen, ZIB's). A mapping specification between any standard to the Clinical Building Blocks accomplishes the following:

  • interoperability on information level: the meaning of concepts in the different standards becomes clear
  • the CBB's are used as the common model, preventing an explosion of the number of mappings needed

Clinical Building Blocks

The concepts in the Clinical Building Blocks are used as the common model to map any other MedMij-standard to.

The following properties of the CBB's are used in the mappings:

  • concept name
  • tree structure of concept (parents of concept)
  • if applicable: the valueset of the concept
  • base cardinality of concept (tree)

Each CBB has a 'registration' transaction in ART-DECOR, for an example for the CBB Patient click here.

Meta information

Clinical Building Blocks only contain clinical information. However, in order to be able to map one standard to another some meta information is also needed.

Meta information needed includes:

  • sender information
    • id
    • name
    • address
  • receiver information, same details as for sender
  • date/time information is created/sent
  • message identification ?
  • type of contents of information (for example 'prescription' or 'transfer of patient record')
