Usage
Add this template to the top of the talk page associated with the page that is linked from or mentioned[1] on a high traffic site. It may also be used if the talk page is linked or mentioned.
Use the syntax {{high traffic|date=|site=|url=|small=|page=|linktext|afterlinktext|date2=|site2=|page2=|...|date10=|site10=|page10=}} where
- date is the date on which you added this template to the talk page, e.g. date=21 november 2024.
- url is the URL (including the http:// prefix) of the originating site, preferably link the particular page that links wikipedia, i.e. is going to hit this article heavily, e.g. http://science.slashdot.org/article.pl?sid=07/06/17/183242.
- site is the simple description of the website, e.g. Slashdot.
Additional parameters:
- date2 through date10, url2 through url10, and site2 through site10 - used if the page is mentioned on more than one high-traffic site. If you need to add more than 10 please update the template.
- linktext to change the work "linked" and afterlinktext to change the word "from." Use notlinked=yes to disable Category:Articles linked from high traffic sites.
- small if set to yes, makes a small version of this template
- page is usually blank. If the talk page is linked or mentioned, use page=talk. If both the talk page and article pages are linked or mentioned, use page=both.
