Usage

  • Returns one of three strings dependent on where placed.
  1. If placed on an IP talk page (any talk page in an IP userspace).
  2. If placed on a talk page of a registered user (any talk page in their userspace).
  3. If placed on a page that is not a user talk page.
  • This template has a shorthand {{Ipt}}.

Examples

I have been placed on {{subst:IP-talk|an IP user's|a registered user's|a page that is not a user}} talk page.

{{subst:Ipt|Create an account! Is kewl!|Now you've registered you can...}}

{{subst:Ipt||Message for registered user|Statement on article page}}

Limitation

  • The template will consider any username made entirely of numerals and/or punctuation to be an IP.
  • This may be revised later to be more accurate.

See also

This is the {{pagename detect see also}} template.

It is used in the "See also" section of the documentation of the pagename-detection templates. It takes no parameters.

If you update this template, then you should probably also update {{namespace detect see also}}. That template holds almost the same list of templates, but with the namespace-detection templates at the top.
